A night in the city center: fun for everyone

With its variety of prices and programs, the night in the city center is mostly frequented by the cariocas (inhabitants from Rio de Janeiro) from the North Zone and the suburbs. They usually arrive by bus, wearing a suit and with their wife in tow. Most of the time, however, they are single people looking for a brief escape from the lonelyness in the most remote neighborhoods, but without enough money to spend in the South Zone. Antonio Carlos, manager of a restaurant in Praça Tiradentes says: “And they’re good people, my son. They don’t show off, they respect others, they just come to have fun. And they always come home with the feeling that they went through something dangerous and exciting, and came out unharmed”.
