Corine literature prize
In 2002, Paulo is awarded the Corine international book prize for his 1987 novel The Alchemist. The Corine is an award established by the Bavarian arm of the German Book Trade for German and international authors for excellent literary achievements and their recognition by the public.
The Corine was first awarded in 2001 and discontinued in 2011. The award was redesigned and is now known as the Bavarian Book Prize.
