Homage to Khalil Gibran

Homage to Khalil Gibran, the Lebanese-American writer, poet, and visual artist, while at the 2009 Beirut International Book Fair. Paulo names Gibran as one of the references in his life, while “The Prophet” is one of his favorite books.

This man, Gibran, he has always been, is, and will be, a reference in my life.
I think “The Prophet” is one of the most perfect books I’ve ever read, it took a long time to write, but it’s of objectivity, poetry and unbelievable beauty. My admiration for Gibran is such that if you go into my social communities you will always find the list of writers I most appreciate, and his name is there along with other icons of literature.
I had the opportunity to visit Gibran’s house in Lebanon in 1996 and now we have the Beirut Book Fair which is really a milestone, a milestone not to be forgotten – because the world forgets, the memory of the human being is very short. but we cannot forget Gibran’s importance in literature and in the thought of the human being.
Congratulations to those who are holding the Beirut Book Fair; congratulations for honoring those who deserve to be honored.
A big hug
